We are in the usual routine after a trip north...unpacking, laundry, drafting a plan for meals for the week and putting together the grocery list...sort of. Jon is still in bed, Vinnie is watching cartoons, and I am tackling the items above with as much gusto as possible despite my lack of energy. It was a good trip north, and we can tell by how tired we are after our return! Celebrating the birthday of two very energetic and very special two year olds will take a lot out of you I guess!
In order to optimize our time north we left Iowa Wednesday afternoon and arrived in WBL by about 8:30 that evening. Thank you again to the amazing iPad for allowing Vinnie to watch an assortment of movies and tv shows, making the trip much more bearable for all involved. We ran errands with Grandma and Grandpa Thursday morning and hit the pool after nap. It wasn't the perfect day for the pool...a little breezy, but we were there and it was summer. After dinner we made a trip to Cup n Cone for some ice cream. What a fun time in White Bear!

Friday morning we headed out to Buffalo to begin preparations for the birthday party. Vinnie was so excited for time with his cousins, making it difficult to sleep and nap each day! We also got to enjoy Charlie's beautiful handiwork with a bonfire on not only Friday but Saturday night as well! It was your usual MN bonfire, with moscitos as guests as well. My feet are covered in bites!
Saturday was party time! Preparations were made all morning and after an afternoon nap guests arrived to celebrate Olivia and Vinnie's second birthday complete with a great lunch off the grill, presents, and ice cream treats!
