After months of trying to make up its mind if it wanted to stick around, Spring has finally planted roots and allowed us to enjoy it. With the chaos that has been our lives lately, we are kind of grateful that it decided to wait until we could really enjoy it to stick around. While things have quieted down we are still trudging our way through some messes. Our water leak problem has not been fixed, but we found two cracks in the foundation after pulling out some drywall. We have had two bids for fixing the cracks and anticipate scheduling a fix shortly after school is done for the summer. Silly to take time off to get it fixed when we are so close to my end.

As I write this, I have 4 meetings remaining for my school year, all staff outs. Next Friday my students will compete at State for Special Olympics track and field, and I plan to have our video yearbook wrapped up so I can send it with graduates by the end of next week. Check, Check, Check...soon to be all crossed off and done with that crazy school check list. I have to say, I have never been so happy to see a school year end. What a long and hard year I have had! I have learned a lot about myself as a teacher, which makes every moment of the chaos worth while...but on June 4th I will happily kiss the school year 2013-2014 goodbye!

No one has been happier to see the weather improve than our sweet toddler! He would happily spend every waking (and sleeping probably) moment "side." Between kicking a ball around the back yard, water painting on the driveway, Kernels games, and now coloring on our new little picnic bench in the back yard, Vinnie is happiest when playing outside! We are happily piecing together plans for our summer, including Mommy and Me music classes, a trip to Denver to meet baby Caleb, swimming lessons, and many Kernels games. We love visitors and you are all welcome any time!
Our first set of visitors for the summer season arrive next weekend. We cannot wait to host the Gibas family to fun and sun for a few days during their sixth annual Memorial Day trip! I know Vinnie will be happy for time playing with his cousins, and Jon and I are anxious to spend time catching up with Meghan and Charlie. We haven't seen any of them since Christmas! We can't wait!!!!!
