Jon and I have really enjoyed watching the Olympic events. Each evening, after dinner, we go downstairs, plop on the floor with Vinnie and a few toys, and watch the events for that night. Seeing all these young athletes, has got me thinking... I know Vinnie will not be receiving any natural athletic abilities from me, but if Vinnie were to be an Olympic Athlete, what would he be? Jon was a swimmer, so that is a definite possibility. To make his Papa proud, maybe a soccer player. Last night, taking into consideration his size, we decided either a diver, or a gymnast.
Today, our trip to the doctor confirmed those possibilities...he continues to be our little peanut! Here are his stats:
Height: 28 1/2 " (10%)
Weight: 19 lbs 4.5 oz (5%)
Head: 45 1/4 cm (20%)
While he is on the low end of his peers, he is showing growth, and his pediatrician is very happy! He was quite the charmer during his appointment, responding to the doctor by shaking his head and thoughtfully babbling. While she was doing her examination on the table, she even commented, "this is not normal. What a content and sweet little boy." This made this mama very proud and very relieved, considering the increase in stubbornness and tantrums we have been seeing at home in the last week.
After being poked, prodded, and pricked for almost an hour, we ventured home. Before even getting on the interstate (less than 3 minutes) the big guy was knocked out in the back seat. It's a lot of work being one!
