Well, it turns out this blog thing is a little harder to stay on top of than I had originally thought. I will make an honest effort from here on out to get on here once a week...if only just for photo updates. My plan is to sneak in the "computer room" on Sundays while the laundry turns and tumbles and Vinnie bounces in his favorite toy. Let's hope!
To catch up:
Vinnie just turned 6 months old! Where does this time go?!? He had his doctor's appointment on Thursday and came in at just under 14 lbs. He is a peanut and we plan to spend the next three months porking him up with yummy homemade baby food so we jump from the 3% for weight, to something a little closer to his peers. Eat Vinnie, eat!!!
He continues to be our laid back easy guy. He blesses us with sleeping through the night, although he is not a good napper. As I write this he is waking up from a brief (maybe 20 minutes) nap. He averages about an hour and a half of naps in his whole day at daycare. He just likes to be busy and take in the world. He loves bouncing in his exosaucer and playing with the toys that has to offer. He also loves laying on the floor with all his toys. He spends this time performing log rolls as he goes from his front to back to front again, all in an effort to grab the next toy!
We are getting more comfortable in this parenting thing as time passes and feel like we can handle venturing out a little more with him. We have moved beyond our Saturday church/grocery shopping trips to occasional shopping and restaurant escapades, and Vinnie takes them all in with his big bright eyes. Every where we go we are stopped as people ooh and aah over his cuteness. Apparently we aren't the only ones who think he is the cutest little gift from God! :)
I have recently discovered Pinterest, which has kept both Jon and I busy with house projects, cooking project, and even an occasional art project with Vinnie. When we started, we joked that we should try to do one new thing from Pinterest each week...but we have found ourselves far exceeding that, especially with all the new recipes we are trying. We cannot wait to have company and share our new delicious treats with all of you!
I apologize again for the lack of updates in the last three months or so. It appears this whole parenting gig is a little more time consuming, and a little more exhausting than we anticipated. More posts to come...I hope ;)
Until next time...
LOVE from Iowa!
